Grigor Boychev & Amy Colucci

The ASA Board of Directors and the Community Outreach Committee are pleased to join the ASA technical staff in recognizing two outstanding individuals who have made major contributions to the growth and progression of our club. For the 2014 year, we are pround to recognize:

  • Volunteer of the Year: Amy Colucci
  • Coach of the Year: Grigor Boychev

Volunteer of the Year - Amy Colucci

Amy has been a tremendous asset for the Alexandria soccer community this year. In her capacity as a team manager and outreach coordinator for her sons' teams, she served as an advocate and strong supporter for families in our underserved communities. In particular, she helped two travel players cope with the loss of their father by working closely with social workers, organizing transportation for them to keep participating with their Alexandria team games and practices, and being a caring parental figure when they needed it most. The ASA soccer community and technical truly appreciates your time and efforts this past year. Thank you Amy!

Coach of the Year - Grigor Boychev

Coach Grigor Boychev joined ASA in 2012, serving as U12 age goup assistant coach. Since then, he has grown within the club and now contributes to the club in numerous capacities. Whether referring an Alexandria rec games or guiding the the soccer development of our younger travel players, Grigor always brings great enthusiasm and passion on field. Off the field, Coach Grigor volunteers his limited time to organize social events for his age group parents and players and go the "extra mile" to make sure players can participate. He has grown tremendously as a coach within the club's structure and curriculum and continues to progress his coaching education, earning the  USSF “B” license last summer. Thank you Grigor for your many contributions to ASA and its players!
