Registration for the 2016-2017 is open
FALL 2016 INFORMATION:
For fall 2016, children born on or before September 31, 2012 are eligible to play. The fall soccer season lasts for eight weeks from September to the beginning of November.
If you are unsure of your player’s age-group, please refer to the AGE GROUP CHART
PLAYER FEES:
These fees all include a $12 city field fee which is paid directly to the City of Alexandria.
Uniforms are NOT included in the price of registration (see below for uniform prices).

FINANCIAL AID:
Financial aid is confidential and available for both registration and uniform fees. ASA's aid program is based on the same criteria as the Alexandria City Public School (ACPS) Free Lunch Program. A copy of your player’s enrollment in the free and reduced lunch program is required for aid consideration. Please note that registrants applying for financial aid may complete their household information online, but must submit a printed Registration Form, birth certificate or passport, and payment directly to the office to receive the discounted rate. The online registration is not able to process financial aid. When the player’s ACPS Free Lunch program enrollment letter is received in the office, the price to play soccer, including a $12 city field fee, is as follows:

HOW TO REGISTER:
Please register online as it saves paper and eliminates hours of database entry and check processing. You may also print, complete and mail the registration form, birth certificate copy (for new players), and payment to:

A complete registration includes all of the following:

PAYMENT (on-line credit card or in-person/mail-in check, cash or money order).
- Checks or money orders may be made payable to "ASA".
- All returned checks will be charged a $25 NSF fee.
- A copy of BIRTH CERTIFICATE (new players only)
- A filled out REGISTRATION FORM (on-line or paper copy)

PROOF OF AGE (Required for all new players):
Please submit a copy of the player’s birth certificate or passport along with the registration form (preferrably at time of registration). If you register online, you must mail, fax or email the birth certificate before the registration is considered complete. If the birth certificate is not received in the office by 09/02/16 the registration will be incomplete and the player will not be assigned to a team.
NON-RESIDENT FEE (Mandated by the City of Alexandria):
This additional fee of $35 per season ($70 per year) must be paid by families living in zipcodes other than 22301, 22302, 22304, 22305, 22311, 22312, 22313 and 22314. In addition, a few addresses within these listed zipcodes are in Fairfax County, not Alexandria City, and those families are also required to pay the additional non-resident fee of $35.00 per season.
REC UNIFORMS (HOME=RED SHIRT; AWAY=BLUE SHIRT):
A red and blue ASA uniform is required to play in any U5-U12 recreational game and may be purchased at the ASA office during office hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm. You may order and pay for any uniform items online or on the registration form and then visit the office to pick up your ordered uniform. Sizes can be changed at that time, if not worn in a game or practice. Shin guards are mandatory at practice and games for ALL age groups.
You may also pay for registration and later visit the office to purchase uniform items. Either way you will have to visit the ASA office to claim your uniform items. If you are unable to visit the office for pick-up, please call the office and other arrangements can be made. Uniforms should be picked up in the season in which they are ordered. ASA will NOT deliver uniform items to practice or games for any reason.
New SFL players (U13-U19) must purchase uniforms through the online registration (must include uniform size). These uniforms will then be ordered from Springfield Soccer.

REFUND POLICY:
VOLUNTEERING:
If you wish to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach, please do so as you complete your player’s on-line registration. At that time please also complete the Kidsafe form for a background check. Soccer playing or coaching experience is NOT required to coach a team. If you register by mail, please contact or visit the ASA office to complete a Kidsafe form.
Each team must have a head coach and an assistant coach. Each age group (Example, under-8 girls) will have a coordinator. Each fall season, a new coordinator is needed for the newly formed U5 and U7 age-groups.
If you are interested in volunteering to coordinate the team placement in an age group, please contact the ASA recreation director, Jim Hogan (jhogan@alexandria-soccer.org). Please note that this is a much larger commitment than coaching a team, but ASA is always looking for qualified and organized individuals to fill these important roles within the club and help our soccer seasons run smoothly.

OFFICE LOCATION:
The ASA office is located at 1108 Jefferson St. in the Lee Center.
We are on the first floor, first hallway on the right, all the way down on the left. Deliver forms here, or mail to: ASA, PO Box 25996, Alexandria, VA 22313. Please DO NOT mail registrations to the Lee Center address; they will not reach us. Also, please DO NOT turn your child’s form in to the office at their school. Though ASA regularly distributes flyers through the school systems, ASA does not task these schools with collecting registrations.
