Swansea University FC (UK) Boys High School Camp + College Combine


All American Coach Dafydd Evans — Current Head coach of Swansea University & his assistants will direct an Elite soccer camp for high school boys players.

Join us for a European style training week of technical / tactical and soccer specific conditioning before your respective seasons.

Dafydd Evans is the current Swansea City University FC Head Coach, former DeMatha Head Coach, DC United U23's Head Coach and All American Coach. MSc USSF/ UEFA “A” License.

Coach Evans and other college coaches will be recruiting for the University Team (where you can earn an undergraduate or graduate degree) and their professional Welsh League team.

A University / Pro combine will take place on Thursday and single day registration is open to college players for this day.

  • Dates: July 23 - 27
  • Location: Witter Field
  • Cost: $150 ($35 for just the Thursday combine)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (combine on Thursday)

Detailed Schedule:

  • Monday: Swansea team training 5-6:30pm | High School Camp 7-9pm
  • Tuesday: Swansea team plays DC United at RFK @ 4pm — Campers invited to pre and post match locker room prep; free entrance to game | High School Camp 7-9pm
  • Wednesday: Day Off
  • Thursday: Swansea team training 5-630pm | University/Pro Combine 7-9pm (Single day registration available for college and high school players interested in the combine!) 
    • College combine game
    • High School combine game
  • Friday: Swansea team training 5-630pm | High School Camp 7-9pm

Campers are encouraged to come out and watch the Swansea team train prior to camp each night.


College Soccer Tour - University of Mary Washington | April 21

ASA is offering our first ever organized college tour at the University of Mary Washington to give our players the opportunity to watch a game, tour campus, meet with coaches and players, meet with admissions officers and more. Even if you're just beginning to explore college options this is a great opportunity to learn more and get a feel for the college soccer experience. Technical Director Ryan Rich along with ASA coaches will be joining the players for the day trip. 

Tentative Saturday, April 21st Schedule:

  • 8:00am — Meet at Lee Center (ASA Offices)
  • 8:30am — Depart for Mary Washington on bus
  • 9:30am — Arrive on campus and get acclimated
  • 10am — Tour field and watch first half of women's soccer game
  • 11am — Lunch in Cafeteria
  • 12pm — Tour Campus with admissions officers
  • 1:30pm — Meet men's and women's head soccer coaches, ask questions, chat with college players
  • 2:30pm — Depart campus
  • 4pm — Arrive back to Lee Center

Registration is $30 (includes bus transportation and lunch). Select: Academy Program - Spring 2018 College Tour when registering.

[Players may "pay" for their spot by volunteering for an ASA program such as Junior Academy or Recreational League. Please email Ryan Rich if you're interested in this option.]

If parents are interested in attending the tour they may meet the group on campus in Fredericksburg but must drive separately.

Alexandria Soccer is committed to helping and guiding its student-athletes through the college recruiting and decision process. The club has provided resources on the right sidebar to help families and provide further information.

In addition to an annual schedule that exposes our high-school aged players to college coaches through showcase events, the club hosts college seminars to educate families on the recruiting process.

September 25th |  College Seminar with Q&A Panel 
Want to learn about the college recruiting process? High school players – save the date for the ASA College Seminar – Sept. 25th, 8-9pm, at the Lee Center (1108 Jefferson St.) The objective of the College Seminar is to provide players with information and insight into the first steps of the college athlete recruitment process. The panel of speakers for the evening will include college coaches, high school guidance counselors and former collegeathletes. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about collegesoccer. .

October 4th (U15-U18 Boys) & October 11th (U15-U17 Girls) | Player Workshops
Workshops will provide an opportunity to get guidance on creating an individual player profile and how to communicate directly with a college coach.

  • October 4th | 7-8pm (U15/U16 Boys) & 8-9pm (U17/U18 Boys) @ Lee Center (1108 Jefferson St.)

February 9-11 | America's Cup Feature Weekend
Feature Weekend is a unique experience for players and teams to be exposed to college coaches over the course of three days of play. Two training sessions with college coaches are available for interested players. Additionally, teams will play two games over the course of the weekend giving players the opportunity to showcase their talents in a competitive game setting. More info here!

Workshops will provide an opportunity to get guidance on creating an individual player profile and how to communicate directly with a college coach.

The ASA office staff is working on scheduling several weekends to take players on college visits. The schedule for this is currently tentative and dates are TBD. More information will be released in early 2018.
