ASA Executive Team | Coaches & Support Staff

ASA takes the time to interview, select, and train the highest quality coaches in the DC area. Every coach on staff is nationally licensed or working towards becoming licensed by USSF or equivalent coaching metrics. The Academy coaches regularly attend in-house and external coaching clinics to stay abreast of the evolving coaching techniques and styles of play in the sport.

Academy Coaches are led by ASA's Executive team and managed by Academy Director Jennie Orloff. The entire coaching staff meets quarterly to discuss the club’s coaching philosophy among other things, to ensure that all players in the Academy soccer program and supplemental programs are receiving the best training in the area.

Leadership Staff

Executive Director & Academy Director | Tommy Park holds a BA in Business Administration from University of Mary Washington & Master's in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University.  Previously, he has served as the Associate Head Coach for DC United's U20s and Varsity Boys  Soccer coach at Dematha Catholic High School. His playing experience includes Men's Varsity Soccer at University of Mary Washington, where he earned NSCAA All-American honors, DC United U20s, and Fredericksburg Generals of the PISL. He holds the USSF "A" License, CBF "A" License (Audited), Unisport Futsal Coaching Certificate (Sao Paulo, Brazil), & National Youth  License. Deputy Director - Academy & Futsal | Chris Arnold is currently the 05 Boys Red head coach. He holds a BA in Politics from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. He has more than 10 years of coaching experience at Alexandria and also coaches the St. Stephen's/St. Agnes Varsity Girls soccer team. His playing experience includes Men's Varsity Soccer at University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Baton Rouge Capitol (PDL), Carolina Dynamo   (PDL), and New Orleans Soccer Academy (5x State Champions). He holds the USSF "B" License,   NSCAA Level 1 Futsal Diploma, Unisport Futsal Coaching Certificate (Sao Paulo, Brazil), &   National Youth License. Deputy Director, Tournaments and Programs | Jim Hogan is currently the 2011 Red girls coach.  He holds a BS in Business Management from Keene State College. He has   more than 10 years of coaching experience at Alexandria. His playing experience includes Men's   Varsity Soccer at Keene State College (NSCAA 1st Team All-New England & Little East  Conference Defensive Player of the Year). He holds the USSF "B" License, NSCAA Level 1 Futsal   Diploma, Unisport Futsal Coaching Certificate (Sao Paulo, Brazil), & National Youth License. Technical Consultant | Ryan Rich is currently the 08 Girls Red head coach & U11 Girls Age Group Director. He holds a BA in History & Pre-Med from Princeton  University and Master's in Education from the University of Virginia. He has more than 12 years of  coaching experience at Alexandria. His playing experience includes Men's Varsity Soccer at  Princeton University (All-Ivy), Region 1 ODP, and Beach FC Desperadoes (5x State Champions). He holds the USSF "B" License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, Unisport Futsal Coaching   Certificate (Sao Paulo, Brazil), & National Youth License.

 

 

 



Junior Academy Program Director | Grigor Boychev is currently the 09 & 08 Boys Red teams head coach. He holds a BS in Tourism Management from CEA (Plovdiv, Bulgaria). He has more than 10 years of coaching experience at Alexandria & ODP. He was named the VYSA State Coach of the Year in 2015 and Alexandria Soccer Coach of the Year in 2014. Coach Grigor won the 2019 Regional 1 Championship title with the 07 Boys Red Team. His playing experience includes Maritza Plovdiv (Bulgarian Semi-Professional) and won a national youth championship with the same club. He holds the USSF "B" License, & National Youth  License. Grigor can be reached by email

 

 



Futsal ID Director/Academy Coaching Support | Will Hanna currently is the head coach for Alexandria's CCL Pro U23s, and 2006 and 2007 boys Red teams, and holds a BS in Sports Management & Psychology from University of  Memphis. Coach Will led the 2006 boys to a VYSA State Championship (2019), as well as the Alexandria 2002 Boys Futsal ID team to three regional championships (2016, 2017, 2018), and two National Championships (2016, 2017). Coach Will was named NSCAA Tennessee HS Girls Coach of the Year in 2012 where he lead the Madison Mustangs to a District and Regional Championship. His playing experience includes Men's Varsity Soccer at Marshall University (D1), and Paducah Premier of the PASL. He holds the USSF "B" License, NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Level 1 and 2 Futsal Diploma, and is a certified VYSA Futsal Instructor.

 

 


 

 

Director of Recreation | Peter Kallin is currently the 05 Boys White head coach. He holds a BA in Communications from Susquehanna University. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2016 and has previous coaching experience with Vienna and CASA. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at West Virginia University. He holds a USSF "B" License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, United Soccer Coaches GK Level 1 Diploma, and United Soccer Coaches Futsal Level 1 Diploma.

 

 

Academy Coaching Staff



Katie Alonso is currently the 2011 Girls Blue head coach. She holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies/Elementary Education from Lynchburg College. She has coached at Alexandria for numerous year and is also an assistant  Varsity Girls coach at St. Stephen's/St. Agnes. Her playing experience include Women's Club  Soccer at Lynchburg College and was a member of the Bishop O'Connell national championship   team. She holds a USSF "D" License and Virginia State Teaching License. 

 

 

 


Ryan Alexander 
is currently the 03 Girls Red & 02 Girls Red head coach. He holds a BS in  Spanish from the University of Michigan. He has coached at Alexandria since 2014 and is currently   the Varsity Girls Coach at Sidewell Friends School. His playing experience includes FC Bihor   (Romania), Evian Thono Gaillard FC (France), and Varsity Men's Soccer at both Wake Forest   University and the University of Michigan. 

 

 

 

Todd Briggs is currently the 08 Girls Blue head coach. His playing experience includes varsity soccer at Albion College (MI), where he holds a BA in both History and Political Science. He holds a USSF "E" License, and is a USSF “D” License candidate (Fall 2020).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Katie Brooks is currently the 07 Girls White head coach. She holds a BA in Rhetoric and Political   Communication from William Jewell College and Master's in Media and Communication Studies   from Florida State University. She has coached at Alexandria since 2016 and previously coached   for Hammer's Soccer Club in Florida. Her playing experience includes Varsity Women's Soccer at   William Jewell College (1st Team All-Conference & Academic All-American). She holds a USSF  "E"  License.

 

 

 


Daniel Chefena is currently the 08 Boys White & 09 Boys White head coach. He has been an  Alexandria coach since 2013 and has experience with many programs within the club. He
has  youth playing experience in his home country of Eritrea. He holds a USSF "D" License. 

 

 

 

 


Lee Clement is currently the 06 Girls Red head coach. He holds a BS in Economics from the  University of Mary Washington. He has been an Alexandria coach since 2015 and has previous  experience Fredericksburg FC and Vienna. His playing experience include Varsity Men's Soccer at  the University of Mary Washington. He holds a USSF "C" License.


 

 

 

 

 

Emir Crnovic is currently the 2010 boys head coach. Born in Germany, Emir moved to Alexandria from Kansas in 2012. He played on the legendary Alexandria Soccer U16 Titans team and played four years at TC Williams. In 2014 the team won the Men's 6A State Championship Title (as well as conference and district titles)! Emir will graduate from George Mason University with a bachelor of arts in Business Marketing. His playing expeience includes ASA's Mens CCL Pro-23 team and ASA Reds. 

 

 

 

 

 

Papa Dia is currently the 05 Boys Blue & 02 Boys White head coach. Boasting over 15 years of  coaching experience, he joined the Alexandria coaching staff in 2017. He has previous coaching   experience with Arlington Soccer and is the Director of Youth Soccer Academy in Mali, Africa. His   playing experience includes Division1 & 2 Professional soccer in Mali and France. He holds a  USSF "D" License, National Youth License, and NSCAA Goalkeeper License.

 

 

 

 

David Drafton is the 2006 Girls Blue Head Coach. He has been with Alexandria Soccer Association coaching staff since 2019. He holds a BA in Recreation and Sport Leadership with a minor in Business Administration from Eastern Mennonite University. David has previous coaching experience as volunteer with ASA and with Coerver United. His playing career includes playing varsity soccer at Eastern Mennonite University for four years, and playing semi-pro soccer in Greece and Bulgaria during study abroad travels. He is currently working on his USSF “D” license.

 

 

 

 

 

Jonathan Garcia is currently the 2010 Boys Gold and 09 Boys Black coach. He holds a BS in Health Science from George Mason University. He has previous coaching experience with soccer summer camps at Khary Stockton Soccer and Soccer Pros as well as Junior Academy Ball Mastery with ASA. His playing experience includes Team America Premiere in NOVA (NCSL Champion), 87’ state, regional, national pool, Adidas All-American 2002-2004, PSG U16 invitational 2005, DC United U16-18, CD Remo (Para, Brazil), Artsul FC (Rio, Brazil), Bayamon FC (Puerto Rico). He holds a USSF “E” License.

 

 

 

 


Glenn Gray is currently ASA's College Soccer Liaison. He holds a BA in Business Administration   from the University of Mary Washington and Master's in Sports Leadership from Virginia  Commonwealth University. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2011 with previous experience coaching as an assistant coach at Virginia Commonwealth University, Northern District ODP, and Arlington Soccer staff coach. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at the University of Mary Washington and PDL. He holds a USSF "A" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ben Hawkins is currently the 2011 Boys White and 2010 Boys Red head coach. He holds a BS in Sports Management from Wilmington College. He joined the Alexandria coaching staff in 2017 and has experience in many of the club's youth programs. His playing experience include Varsity Men's Soccer at Wilmington College and youth club soccer with Dayton United. He holds a USSF "E" License.

 

 

 

 

Chris Hubbard is currently the 08 Boys Silver head coach. He holds a BA in Psychology & Human Development from Howard University. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2016 and has previous experience with DC Stoddert and Soccer Shots. His playing experience include Varsity Men's Soccer at Howard University. He holds a USSF "E" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mitchell Jovandaric is the 2011 and 2010 Boys Black head coach. His playing experience includes semi-professional soccer and futsal in Serbia, his home country and where he attended school. He graduted from the "Faculty of Sport and Physical Education." Jovandaric holds a USSF "E" license.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Emily Kruger is currently the 09 Girls White head coach. She grew up playing for competetive soccer clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, transitioned smoothly into the starting goalkeeper role at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!), and then played professionally for 3 years, both abroad and in the NWSL with Portland Thorns FC. Since retiring in 2016, she's been working for an organization called Coaches Across Continents, traveling the world as a coaching consultant in Sport for Development. While she values her competitive sport experience, she left that world to pursue her belief in the potential of sport to create thoughtful, empathetic, awesome humans. Coaching soccer with a focus on life skills and social development is truly her passion!

 

 

 

 

 

Peja Ilic is currently the 2010 Girls Red and 2005 Girls Red coach. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2013. His playing experience includes Division 1 Professional soccer in Serba and made his first team debut at only 17 years of age. He holds a USSF "C" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Biko Kujifi is currently the 05 Girls White and 05 Girls Blue head coach. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2013 and has previous experience with Waldorf and Maryland United. He holds a USSF "D" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tim Lenzo is currently the 08 Boys Blue and 07 Boys Blue head coach. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2017 and has previous experience with Baltimore Bays and lead multiple Stars FC teams to futsal state championships. His playing experience includes youth club soccer in Maryland and was a youth club futsal state champion. He holds a USSF "E" License.

 

 

 

 

 

Noe Loarca is currently the 09 Boys Silver Head Coach. He studied Communication at George Mason University. He began with Alexandria in the Junior Academy program in 2018. His playing experience includes all four years of varsity soccer for Wakefield High School, George Mason University’s club soccer team, US Open Cup, and local travel clubs. He currently holds a USSF “E” License. 

 

 

 

 

 

Said Mahious is currently the 05 Boys Black and 00 Boys White head coach. He holds a BS in Physical Education & Sport from the University of Algiers. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2016 and has previous experience coaching youth soccer in Algeria and at Sidwell Friends. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at the University of Algiers. He holds a USSF "D" License and Referee Grade 7 Certification.
 

 

 

 

Mike Mastrantuono is the head coach of the 03 Boys and 04 Boys White teams.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and History from the University of Maryland (College Park) and a Masters in Education from Trinity Washington University.  

After graduating, he taught Social Studies and other subjects at the high school level for ten years while coaching both high school and club soccer part-time.  Since 2017, he has coached soccer full time. He has his USSF C license and a number of certificates including the United Soccer Coaches Level 1 Futsal Diploma.

 

 

 

Josh McCave is currently the 04 Boys Red and 03 Boys Red head coach. He holds a BA in Criminology & Criminal Justic from the University of Maryland-College Park. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2016 and has previous experience with Demathan High School and Maryland Rush. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at Seton Hill University. He holds a USSF "E" License.

 

 

 

 

Juliet Onufrak is the coach of the 2010 Girls Blue and 09 Girls Blue team. She started coaching for ASA’s Junior Academy in Spring 2018. Her playing experience includes club at IMG Academy in Florida, and then playing at the Catholic University of America as an outside back and outside mid from 2013-2017. In 2015 and 2016 Catholic won their conference and went to the first and second rounds of the D3 NCAA Tournament.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Christophe Poyac is currently the 04 Girls White head coach. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2009 and teaches French at Browne Academy in Alexandria. He holds a USSF "C" License.

 

 

 

 


 

 

Peja Radivojevic is currently the 06 Boys White and 07 Boys White head coach. He holds a BS in Sport and Physical Education from University of Nis-Serbia. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2016 and helped lead the U15 Boys Futsal ID team to the national championship in 2016. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at the University of Nis-Serbia and professional futsal in Serbia Premier Division. He holds a USSF "D" License and NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma.

 

 

 

 

Gonzalo Ramella is the 03 Girls White Team head coach. He holds a BA in Criminology from the University of South Florida. He has been on the Alexandria Academy coaching staff since 2012. His playing experience includes Men's Soccer Program at Warner University (NAIA All-American), Men's Soccer Program at University of South Florida (NCAA Sweet 16 and Elite 8), FC Oberneuland, Brinkumer SV and Bremer SV (Germany), Deportivo AELU and Sporting Cristal (Peru). He holds a USSF "D" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ramon Roque is currently the 01 Boys Red head coach. He holds a BS in Civil, Environmental, and Infrastructure Engineering at George Mason University. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2014. He holds a USSF "D" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ricardo Salamanca is currently the 00 Boys Red head coach. He holds a BS in International Business & French at Old Dominion University. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2017 and has over 15 years coaching experience. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at Old Dominion University. He holds a USSF "C" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scott Senkier is currently the 04 Girls Red head coach. He holds a BS in Ops Research & Computer Analysis at US Coach Guard Academy and Master's in Information Systems Technology at George Washington University. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2015 with previous coaching experience at the Academy of the Holy Cross. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at US Coach Guard Academy (All New England) and Eastern New York ODP. He holds a USSF "D" License.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Paul Trott  is currently the 06 boys silver head coach. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2019 and has 6 years of youth coaching experience from recreational to travel. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years, deploying twice for Operation OIF and OEF. He studied Business & Communication at Northern Virginia Community College, and currently holds his USSF "Grassroots License."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ronald Ventura brings a wealth of playing experience to his coaching role at ASA. Most recently he played for ASA's PRO23 CCL team. Growing up he played for Potomac Academy and participated in a United States U15 National Team Camp. He played for DC United Academy in high school and had the opportunity to train with the first team on multiple occasions. Additionally he played briefly with El Salvador's U20 National team. Ronald has been coaching summer camps at Potomac and DC United. He holds the US Soccer Grassroots 7v7 Module Certificate and is pursuing his "D" License.

 

 

 

 

 

Victoria Weavill is currently the 10 Girls Blue head coach. She previously coached U6-U12 girls teams at Waldorf Soccer Club in Maryland and Haverhill Youth Soccer in Massachusetts. She also volunteers as a Youth Experience manager with the Washington Spirit. Victoria has a US Soccer “D” license and a United Soccer Coaches Level 1 Futsal Diploma. Victoria studied Health Care Administration at Stonehill College where she played women’s rugby and currently works as a Program Manager at Optum.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mark Wysocki holds a Master’s in Public Communication and BA in Business Administration from American University. He has more than 10 years of experience in sports business management and coaching across the DMV. His playing experience includes professional Futsal with Sporting Maryland FC of the NLPF (current), Northern Virginia Royals (PDL), Men’s Varsity Soccer at American University, DC United U20s and U18 U.S. Men’s National Team player pool. He holds the NSCAA Level 1 Futsal Diploma & USSF Grassroots License.

 

 

 

 


 

Edwin Zelaya is currently the 2010 Boys Blue head coach. He holds a BA in International Business at Belmon Abbey College. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2012. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at Belmon Abbey College & Louisburg College. He holds a USSF "E" License.

 

 

 

Support Staff

 

Lead GK Coach | TJ Connolly holds a BA in English from Georgetown University. He has been on the Alexandria coaching staff since 2015 and serves as the Head Men's Coach at Northern Virginia Community College. His playing experience includes Varsity Men's Soccer at Georgetown University. He holds a USSF "E" License.

 

 

 

 

 

Director of Injury Prevention & Fitness | Jenn Schwartz is a nationally-recognized injury prevention expert in youth soccer and owner of Impact Sports Science Group where she consults many types of athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and sports performance optimization. Her clients vary from Alexandria Soccer players, NFL players to Olympians. She holds a Master's in Muscle Activation Techniques, Fitness, and Health Management, a BS in Pre-Physical Therapy, and is a certified Exercise Physiologist.

 

 

 

 

 

Mental Training Consultant | Robyn Kenney is a peak performance expert. She is also a former international athlete for Team USA (2002-2006) and a Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame recipient (2017). As the Director of Mind Body Athletics, she teaches mental skills to a variety of athletic teams to improve focus, resiliency, and confidence. Robyn has 14 years experience coaching at The Ohio State University, Virginia Wesleyan College, and TC Williams High School. She holds a MA in Energy & Environmental Analysis from Boston University and a certification as a Mindfulness Instructor from the Center of Koru Mindfulness.
