Alexandria Atletico (U13 Boys) wins the Triangle Friendlies

Alexandria Atletico (U13 Boys) wins the Triangle Friendlies - Over the weekend of 28 - 29 January, ASA’s Atletico team travelled to
Fayetteville North Carolina to compete in the Triangle Friendlies tournament. The Triangle FC Friendlies event drew over 450 teams from 15
states and Canada.  Atletico, coached by Tom Hamblett, won three games, with one tie.  All 3 victories were shutouts.

In the first game, Atletico rolled over CASL Thunder, 7-0.  Goals were scored by Elvis (3 goals), Diego, Jackson, Dylan and Levis.  The second
game was a roller coaster ride against TFC White. After going up 3-0, Atletico needed to fight back from a 5-4 deficit.  A late goal from
Cooper tied the game at 5, sending Atletico to penalty kicks to determine 1st place in the flight.  During the penalty kicks, Nick made
a huge save and Atletico converted on all of the PKs to win, with Joey putting in the game clincher.

In the semi-finals, Atletico posted an easy 4-0 win against TFC Green. This win was led by Isiah’s three goal effort.

In the final, Atletico beat JUSA Johnston United Red 1 - 0.  This was strong defensive effort by the entire team.  Atletico played some great
defense, led by Max, Page, Asher and Tom.  Our mid-fielders helped control the game with strong performances by Joey, Jack, Yecson, Isiah,
Cooper, Felipe and Levis.  In the end, Jackson scored the game winning goal.  Page made a couple critical stops in front of the Atletico goal
to earn him the player of the match.

Atletico returned to Alexandra late Sunday exhausted from a long hard-fought tournament, with their first place medals around their necks
and smiles on their faces."
