Sunday, November 4, 1PM at Simpson Field

In the Fall of 2012, ASA is introducing the Player Development Program (“PDP”) to provide a transitional and challenging environment for players not quite comfortable or confident enough within the game or on the ball for the “Travel” gameday experience (which is ok!).  Others may simply have logistical conflicts to commit to the Travel environment and do not want to not have exposure to the great teachers ASA provides.

Who: ASA Recreation players U9 to U13 (08/01/99 to 07/31/04)

What: Starting the week of September 10th there will be one professional training session at set time/day for eight weeks.  There will be four playdates on Sundays that do not conflict with the Recreation league games

When: Mondays, 5:45-6:45pm starting September 10th and ending October 29th

Where: Simpson Fields (426 East Monroe st.). Two premier bermuda grass fields conveniently located off Rt.1

Trainers: Coaches will be ASA Staff trainers who are USSF/NSCAA certified.  They will train the players with the same standards and age appropriate curriculum used for the "Travel" players.  Sessions will be structured to introduce players to the most important technical and tactical concepts at each age group.  See the ASA Age group curriculums here.

Cost: $135 per season.  Includes performance PDP program t-shirt and all training/gameday coverage on premium fields.  Scholarships available upon request.

How is this different from Travel soccer?: PDP is open to any ASA member regardless of their current ability. There is no tryout required! The ASA technical staff recommends the program to players that have a desire to learn and passion for the sport.  Many players may have a desire to progress to the travel gameday environment and others may simply want to be more comfortable in the Recreation environment.  This program is ideal for both groups of players.  For more information on the "Travel" program click here.

What is a playdate?: ASA will schedule four playdates for the PDP players.  On these dates (typically Sundays) the players will compete against each other and against other local clubs (SYC, ARL, LMVSC, etc.) who have similar programs.  This will provide our players with a more challenging and different gameday experience to supplement or add to their games with their Recreation teams.
