Goalkeeper "GK" Training

ASA Director of Goalkeeping Rick Wilcox and his staff host goalkeeper (GK) training sessions year round for players looking to develop their technique and understanding of the position. Rick is the head coach of the boys varisty soccer team at Episcopal High School (EHS) in Alexandria, Va

What to expect:

Regular functional training is critical to the development of aspiring goalkeepers (Boys and Girls ages U10-U18). The sessions will cover the technical aspects of catching, deflecting, low and high ball diving, dealing with crosses, breakaways and through balls and distribution. Each practice will include footwork, core strength, explosiveness and agility. Leadership, tactics, reading the game and positioning will also be addressed during this 7-week session. Each goalkeeper is expected to wear a long-sleeve training shirt and gloves, and bring a ball and water.  See the specific schedule for this season on the link on the side bar
